About Me

Hi there! Happy to see you on this corner of the internet. I'd like to introduce myself. I see myself as a pursuer of improvement and a practical dreamer. My goal in life is to spread positivity in the world, and I have an affinity towards initiatives that unify people, places, and processes.

My professional experiences involve collaborating with and enabling people to exceed their own expectations of their abilities and to accomplish their goals. Currently, I am working as Project Management & Admin Assistant at Corner Point EIFS Ltd. Previously I've been Lead Summer Camp Coordinator, Assistant Project Coordinator, Peer Career Mentor, Research Assistant, and a Gymnastics and Parkour Coach. My formal education includes a post-graduate certificate in Project Management at George Brown college, and a bachelor’s degree in Honours Life Sciences Co-op at McMaster University.

I value giving back to my community through volunteering. My volunteer experiences have included Lead Event Coordinator, Hospital Elder Life Program volunteer, and president of Hamilton Parkour. Aside from all that, I enjoy staying fit and active with parkour, diving into a good book, and thanking you for reading this far. Thanks!

Corner Point has established a reputation for exceptional quality and service in the exterior cladding industry by combining the art of stucco application with the science of insulation since 2001. Corner Point firmly believes that the EIFS industry can contribute a significant improvement to current and future energy saving needs.

Highlights from my role:

  • Collaboration through a multi-session strategic planning process resulting in setting the company’s five-year mission, vision, goals, and guiding principles
  • Crafted the company’s human resources process including recruitment, on-boarding, staff training, retainment, and termination, and successfully hired 6 new team members to join the company
  • Assisted in creating a new marketing strategy and supervised the creation of new company branding including renewing the website and gathering & organizing digital assets
Lead camp coordinator
Hamilton Downtown Mosque; Hamilton ON

The goal of the Hamilton Downtown Mosque (HDM) is to give community members a haven where they can attain knowledge, spiritual growth, receive resources and social services, and connect with others.

Highlights from my role:

  • Successfully designed and led a 44 participant two week Summer Camp from the ground up for ages 5-18 with a team of 4 Coordinators, 9 Camp Counsellors, and 10 Volunteers
  • Engaged with multiple stakeholders including the HDM non-profit board, key leaders in the community, external organizations and venues, and the summer camp team to ensure camp objectives were met with insight from all parties
  • Exercised adaptibility when addressing issues such as trip cancellations, new registrants, injuries to campers, rescheduling activities, and finding alternate transportation.
Assistant Project COordinator
CityLAB Hamilton; Hamilton ON

CityLAB Hamilton works with City staff to identify complex challenges faced in the City and matches City staff with faculty and courses from Hamilton’s three post-secondary institutions. Students and staff then co-create and design an innovative real-world project to address the focal problem, gaining valuable insight and data that can be shared and potentially scaled up.

Highlights from my role:

  • Created, facilitated, and maintained relationships with including City Staff, faculty members, students, and external organizations, ensuring efficacious communication and understanding between all members regarding project collaboration & development
  • With curiosity and confidence explored options and made recommendations when coordinating the year-end CityLAB Project Showcase attended by over 200 individuals including City Staff, faculty, students, and the public.
  • Effectively coordinated four student teams in CityLab’s ‘Semester in Residence’ program to maintain accountability with major project deadlines, participation in discussions, and attendance of key events
Peer Career Mentor
Science Career & Cooperative Education, McMaster University; Hamilton ON

The Science Career and Cooperative Education Office (SCCE) provides McMaster University students with career advising, cooperative education (co-op), experiential learning opportunities, postgraduate application assistance, research, and summer job search help.

Highlights from my role:

  • Demonstrating caring mentorship skills by evaluating the resumes of over 250 students one-on-one, ensuring that the students are better prepared for their career pursuits
  • Exercising commendable interpersonal skills by maintaining a friendly first point of contact for those entering the SCCE office with questions and concerns, responding amiably with guidance to resources
  • Compiling various databases to gather statistics on the use of the SCCE office services as well as co-operative education usage data by utilizing Microsoft Excel
Gymnastics Supervisor & Coach
Burlington BGs; Burlington ON
Sep 2015 — Nov 2016

Burlington BGs (now Burlington T&T) is a gymnastics gym located in Burlington, Ontario. It runs recreational and competitive gymnastics programs, and has given rise to exceptional gymnasts. BGs has hosted many competitions and continues to run programs for all ages year round.

Highlights from my role:

  • Supervised gymnastics facility by aiding coaches run their classes smoothly, responding to customer requests, and providing first aid, to ensure the smooth operation of services
  • Collaborated with co-coaches outside of class to plan, implement, and improve curriculums, resulting in timely execution of all class components inside class times
  • Maintained a positive and encouraging learning environment through actively promoting challenging yet engaging movement, resulting in the students excelling in their evaluations

Class of 2020

Graduating from the Project Management post-graduate certificate program prepared me to manage project scope and change, provide goal setting, project control, project staffing, risk management, utilize project management tools, and perform other functions in careers that incorporate project management or in stand-alone project manager positions. As a graduate, I've had the opportunity to demonstrate my knowledge, job skills, soft skills, and abilities related to business in general and project management in particular.

HBSc Life Sciences Co-op — McMaster university
Class of 2018

As an Honours Life Sciences Co-op graduate, my course selections are reflective of my goal of gaining an interdisciplinary perspective and include focus areas in health, biology & environment, leadership & community, and sustainability. My learning included a mixture of lecture, lab, experiential education, and coop. With co-op, I've acquired 16 months of work experience in three different work placements.

Aside from my studies I have volunteered with various organizations including McMaster's Student Walk Home Attendant Team (SWHAT), the Hospital Elderly Life Program (HELP) at Juravinski Hospital, the Hamilton division of St. John Ambulance, as president/leader of the Hamilton Parkour club, and as Facility Head at McMaster Muslim Students' Association.

  • Final year project: Growing Bridges - Improving Regional Food Security by Increasing Engagement at the McQuesten Urban Farm in Hamilton. This project involved primary and secondary research, analyzation and implementation of findings, meeting with community stakeholders such as City staff, and presentation of findings in a citywide symposium.
  • Experiential Education: Field Research Assistant course taken in Honduras aiding scientists with conservation research in cloud forests
  • McMaster Entrance Scholarship (2012) for academic achievement in secondary school
